Lucky Paws Foundation Commemorates the 27t
Annual International Homeless Animals’ Day
on Saturday, August 25 at Café Amici

St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, August 10, 2018– You are cordially invited to celebrate with the Lucky Paws Foundation (LPF) the lives we save and raise much needed awareness about pet overpopulation on Saturday, August 25 from 4:00-6:00 PM at the fabulous Café Amici at AH Riise Mall in downtown Charlotte Amalie.

Since 1992, the International Society for Animal Rights (ISAR) has used the third Saturday of August as an International Homeless Animals’ Day platform for its educational efforts to spread the companion animal overpopulation message and spay/neuter solution. In conjunction with ISAR’s initiative, LPF will be offering throughout the month of August a FREE spay/neuter clinic at Canines, Cats & Critters for those who have cats or are feeding community cats needing sterilization services.

Appointments must be made by calling 340-513-1854.

Please join the worldwide effort to end pet overpopulation which will ultimately result in no more homeless animals by observing International Homeless Animals’ Day while enjoying a complimentary glass of wine, hors d’oeuvres, and fantastic raffle prizes from 4:00-6:00 PM on Saturday, August 25 at Café Amici. Please RSVP at 340-513-1854.

Your $20 donation will greatly help to assist LPF to continue providing the only available sustained assistance to community cat caretakers and less fortunate animal lovers. This effort to save lives in our community is made possible by LPF solely operating its two main programs, SNIP (Spay/Neuter Island Pets) and Cat Café. Remember, Homeless does not mean Worthless!

Lucky Paws Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), no-kill, all-volunteer animal rescue and adoption organization. Our mission is to save the lives of homeless animals by providing access to low cost spay and neuter programs, exposing animal cruelty in order to reduce the inhumane treatment of animals and educating the public on the plight of shelter animals in an effort to increase adoptions. Toward this goal, the foundation presently has two active programs: Cat Café and SNIP.

The Cat Café Program strives to end the needless killing of homeless cats by educating and assisting resort properties and individuals to manage colonies in a humane and effective manner through TNRM (Trap-Neuter-Return-Maintain). The program stops feral and stray (also known as community) cats from breeding by trapping them for testing and evaluation by a veterinarian. Healthy cats are sterilized and returned back into their territory. Volunteers then maintain the cat colony by providing food and water on a daily basis. This highly successful means of population control not only saves cats’ lives but also reduces intake and nuisance calls to our local shelter. It is a win-win situation for all.

In the case of kittens or friendly adoptable strays, we work with the local animal shelter to find them homes or place them in foster care with one of our compassionate volunteers until they can be adopted. Each year, the Lucky Paws Foundation humanely manages our community cat population through Trap-Neuter-Return-Maintain (TNRM) by assisting individual colony caretakers, businesses and resorts and finding loving homes for hundreds of cats and kittens.

SNIP (Spay/Neuter Island Pets) provides financial assistance for individuals who otherwise could not afford the cost of spaying and neutering their own pets. Every month SNIP distributes the funds needed to cover the cost of veterinary bills in an effort to support our no-kill mission.

Please help us continue to make a difference for the homeless animals by sending a donation through the PayPal button or address below.

Thank you for being part of the solution in our quest to transform St. Thomas into a NO-KILL island by saving one stray at a time!
